Sukkur IBA (15 December 2016 2016): Sukkur IBA organized 1st International Conference on Business, Economics and Education Management – ICBEM with theme of ‘Local, Regional and Global Perspective’. The primary objective of the conference is to provide platform to scholars, researchers, and policy makers to present their empirical work and highlight challenges and opportunities emerging on the frontiers of local and regional economies. Honorable Dr Javed Ashraf, current Vice Chancellor Quaid-e-Azam University Islamabad and former dean IBA Karachi, was the chief guest of the event. In his speech, Dr. Javed Ashraf appreciated the growth of Sukkur IBA. He also added that, when he was leading IBA Karachi, Sukkur IBA was its affiliated institute, but within short span of time, it has emerged as a top business school of Pakistan. The conference comprises of different sessions which include keynote speeches, panel discussions and parallel sessions on various themes of conference.lockquote>
Sukkur IBA commences Day 2 of its conference - ICBEM activities with Pre-Conference Workshop on "Data Analysis for Research Papers & Thesis" on December 14, 2016. The Workshop Organized by Dr. Waqar Akram Senior Manager ICBEM and his Team. Dr Imran Ali -King Abdul Aziz University, Saudi Arabia and Dr Waheed Ali Umrani Assistant Professor, Sukkur IBA were the leader trainers of the workshop. Certificates and shields were distributed among the participants and Trainers. Traditional topi and Ajrak presented to the Lead Trainer Dr Imran Ali by worthy Director Sukkur IBA Prof. Nisar Ahmed Siddique.
The second day started with recitation of Holy Quran, Dua-e-Magfirat for APS Peshawar victims followed by National Anthem of Pakistan. Dr. Waqar Akram, Senior Manager ICBEM and Associate Professor Business Administration welcomed the entire participant on second day of conference. The second day of conference comprises of different sessions which include keynote speeches, panel discussions and parallel sessions on various themes of conference. Among the keynote speakers was Dr. Michal Cameron, Associate Professor Economics Waikato Management School the University of Waikato Hamilton New Zealand. He shed light on population modeling and stochastic modeling, financial literacy and economics education. There was also Panel Discussion on Entrepreneurship Myth or Reality. The panel consist Dr. Tayyab Shabir Professor of Finance and the Director of the Institute of Entrepreneurship at the College of Business and Public Policy at the California State University and Dr. Craig Watters Executive Director, Riata Centre for Entrepreneurship, Oklahoma State University, USA. They shared their views and knowledge on Entrepreneurship in Pakistani context and gave informative advice to the students relates issues and challenges for an entrepreneur in Pakistan. Parallel sessions were another important activity of conference in which researchers presented their research findings and session managers and chairs gave their feedback. During the parallel sessions people presented their work related to Marketing, Consumer Behavior, economics, finance, HRM, Organizational behavior, leadership and consumer behavior fields. The second day of conference ended with the distribution of shields and certificates among the participant and Esteemed Guests.
